President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has assured Nigerians that those behind the recent mass killings in Kwara State will face justice, declaring that the perpetrators will not escape punishment.

The president gave the assurance on Thursday at the State House in Abuja while meeting with Kwara State Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq to review the security situation following the deadly attacks in Kaiama Local Government Area.

Gunmen had stormed the Nuku and Woro communities on Wednesday, killing at least 75 residents and setting several homes ablaze. The assault left many families displaced and properties destroyed.

Governor Abdulrazaq linked the violence to Islamic extremists, describing the attack as a targeted campaign against innocent villagers.

In response, Tinubu immediately ordered the deployment of an army battalion to the affected area to restore calm and strengthen security.

The president described the killings as deeply troubling, noting that the victims were reportedly targeted for refusing attempts at forced religious indoctrination.

He condemned the attackers as ruthless for preying on defenseless communities.
Tinubu praised the residents for rejecting extremist ideologies and standing for peace, stressing that Nigeria would never bow to terrorism disguised as religion.

He also directed federal and state authorities to work closely to provide relief materials and urgent support to survivors while security agencies hunt down those responsible.

According to him, the government remains committed to protecting lives, defending national unity, and crushing all forms of terrorism.

Tinubu extended condolences to the bereaved families and expressed solidarity with the people and government of Kwara State.

The latest tragedy comes amid renewed violence in parts of northern Nigeria, raising fresh concerns over security in the region
