The Kaduna State Government has shed light on how it secured the safe release of dozens of residents abducted in Kajuru earlier this year.

Commissioner for Information, Ahmed Maiyaki, said the success was achieved through what he described as the state’s unique “peace model,” which relies more on dialogue and community engagement than force.

During an appearance on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily, Maiyaki explained that the government worked closely with local leaders, traditional institutions, and community members to facilitate the victims’ return.

Gunmen had attacked three churches in January, kidnapping over 100 worshippers. On Thursday, Governor Uba Sani welcomed 183 rescued victims back home after nearly three weeks in captivity.

Maiyaki said the governor had promised from day one that every effort would be made to ensure no one was harmed or left behind. He expressed gratitude that all the victims were reunited safely with their families.
