Peter Obi Demonstrates Grassroots Appeal in FCT Ahead of Council Polls

Peter Obi, the leading presidential aspirant for the African Democratic Congress (ADC), showcased his political strength and grassroots connection during a comprehensive engagement across several Area Councils in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) on Tuesday. 

His early morning tour emphasized a people-centered approach, highlighting his commitment to accessible leadership and community-focused governance.

Obi began his day at 6:30 am, traveling from his Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) office to interact directly with residents in Abaji Area Council. 

Walking through the community alongside Dr. Mohammed Ibrahim, the ADC chairmanship candidate, Obi spent a full hour engaging with locals and understanding their daily challenges. This approach underscores his ability to connect personally with constituents—a hallmark of his political strategy.

Continuing his campaign, Obi visited Kwali Area Council to support Hon. Jeremiah Badoji, further demonstrating his willingness to be visible and active at the grassroots level. His interactions with residents emphasized that effective leadership must be grounded in the realities and needs of ordinary citizens, reinforcing his image as a leader who values inclusivity and practical solutions.

Obi’s tour extended to Zuba in Gwagwalada Area Council and Deidei Market in AMAC, where he engaged traders and locals while supporting ADC chairmanship candidates. Each stop provided him with an opportunity to reinforce his vision of development rooted in the welfare of everyday Nigerians, showcasing both his organizational reach and personal touch in mobilizing support.
