Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, on Thursday met with United States President Donald Trump at the 74th Annual National Prayer Breakfast held on Capitol Hill, Washington, D.C.

President Trump publicly acknowledged Mrs Tinubu during the high-profile event, describing her as a “very respected woman” as he recognised her presence before a distinguished audience.

While delivering his address, the U.S. president invited the Nigerian First Lady to stand, prompting applause from attendees. He highlighted her roles as a national leader and a religious figure, noting that she also serves as a Christian pastor at what he described as the largest church in Nigeria.

“We’re honoured to be joined today by the First Lady of Nigeria, who also happens to serve as a Christian pastor at the largest church in Nigeria. A very respected woman. First Lady, please, where are you? Thank you very much,” Trump said.

Mrs Tinubu attended the prayer breakfast alongside global leaders, lawmakers and faith leaders from around the world.
