The National Directorate of Employment NDE in its continuous efforts to curb unemployment in Nigeria has disbursed resettlement loan facilities in items to the beneficiaries of the community-based training scheme CBTS in Federal Capital Territory.
Director General of NDE Mallam Abubakar Nuhu Fikpo represented by the FCT State Coordinator, Mr. Noble Chimereze said during the disbursement ceremony that the beneficiaries were the Vocational Skill Development Department trained graduates of CBTS categorized under different trades such as tailoring, computer and GSM repairs.
He added that the beneficiaries were given sewing machine, computers for computer studies and phone repairs respectively, confirming that the loan is in the items and is repayable on monthly basis after the moneterium period of 6 months, and charged beneficiaries to see this facility as seed capitals for them to be able to start up their businesses, become self reliant and employers of labour.
Also speaking, Hajia Jemila Suleiman, a representative of the Director of the Vocational Skill Development Department of the NDE headquarters charged beneficiaries to see this as rare opportunity as there are many who are looking for this kind of opportunity to start up a business but could not see which by the grace of God is availing to them today through NDE.
Appreciating the NDE on behalf of all the beneficiaries, Mariam Alfred thanked NDE leadership for their well thought out life transforming programs and for always showing concerns to the plight of the unemployed, which are evident in the successive programs of the agency and promised to maximize this opportunity for economic development
