A non governmental organization, Rotary club of Abuja Asokoro Diamond in joined efforts with it counterparts in Rotary District 9125 and all Rotary clubs in FCT has organized an awareness walk on Saturday 28 October, 2023 in commemoration of the 2023 world polio day with the theme "Walking towards a Polio -Free World "
President of the club Rtn Adeleke Shola Ayanronke said the initiative was a concerted efforts and resolve of Rotarians in the district in Ending Polio and keeping Polio at Zero level.
Speaking during the exercise she said it was imperative to eradicate polio completely Nigeria, adding that the Rotary club will continue to align with Frontline health workers in tackling this polio and other preventable diseases in the country.
According to her, Rotary club of Abuja Asokoro Diamond has been instrumental in polio eradication and strengthening community health systems. Adding that in recent time the club carried a project tagged "Sign On To End Polio Now" while reiterating the club's commitment to remain a source of hope to the hopeless communities through humanitarian services.
Prominent in attendants were the District 9125 Governor, Rtn. Arc. Sagab Ahmed, District Polio Chair, Rtn.Joshua Hassan, Club Assistant Governor, Rtn. Abosede Dupe , Rotary President of all President in Abuja Ijeomah Agwu, the Club Service Project Chair, Rtn. Adeleke Stephen Adedapo and the FCT Polio representative Rtn Anatesia and others.
