The Senior Pastor, Liberty Chapel, Seventh Day Adventist Church, Utako, Abuja, Pastor Kayode Arigbede has called on Christians in the country to reflect Christ in their deeds and live a life of service to others.

He said this on the sideline of the 19th anniversary celebration of the church, tagged "Divine Protection" also featured musical rendition by various groups in Abuja.
According to him, if we are Christians indeed then all that has befallen us in this country should not have befallen us, saying how come we have so many churches, so many pastors, religion all over the place and there is still corruption all over.

"There is need for us to become Christians in deed and when we become Christians in deed, our lives should reflect Christianity and draw people closer to God.
"That means we should forgive where we need to forgive, live right as the Bible says we are a light set on the hill.

"When we become that true light that is set on the hill, everybody will look up to us and follow us," he said.

On the 2023 general elections, the clergy advised Nigerians to vote according to their conscience and resist the urge of selling their votes.

"I want to say that every one of us should vote based on the dictates of their conscience.
"Whoever you think is the right person, that you believe will lead Nigeria to our Eldorado, vote for that person and whoever wins, let us accept it, support the person and back him up with prayers," he added.

On her part, Mrs Chidiebere Lovewins, Music Mistress of the Church, encouraged Christians to listen to music whenever they are going through difficult times in life.

"Music is one thing that I know that connects people together, even from the Bible, when Saul was down casted and troubled, it was the playing of music that always lifted up his spirit.

"And whenever music is played, it has a way of bringing people together and lifting up their spirit," she said.

Also, Mrs Nkechi Fred, Anniversary committee member of the church, also admonished Christians to hold fast to God, in whatever situation they find themselves.

"As we are celebrating this anniversary, we are reemphasizing it and refreshing our memory that after our sojourn here on earth.
"We are waiting for our king who will come and take us all to heaven.

"Christians should not relent, they should hold fast to God, I know we will meet temptation, tribulation, challenges but they should hold fast on God," she added.
